International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB)

IDFB is an award-winning festival that brings outstanding international dance to Birmingham’s theatres, streets and squares and creates lots of opportunities for people to get involved. From the large to the small scale, and with over 15 dance styles featured, from circus to flamenco, bhangra to swing, plus plenty of live music too, there really is something for everyone! IDFB 2016 runs from the 1 - 22 May.

Produced by DanceXchange in partnership with Birmingham Hippodrome, IDFB takes place in Birmingham every two years. It is one of Europe’s largest dance festivals and a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar – bringing people together, providing new experiences, attracting visitors, and contributing to the local economy. IDFB is funded by Birmingham City Council and Arts Council England.

IDFB 2016 will present:
- 11 world + UK premieres
- Over 15 dance styles
- Shows from 17 countries
- 39 free outdoor events
- 37 theatre performances
- Plus lots of opportunities for people to take part
